Dr Torben Wentrup completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Queensland, with Bachelor’s degrees in Science and Medicine/Surgery. His anaesthetic training was based in Queensland, and he undertook a fellowship in anaesthesia for upper GI, hepatobiliary and bariatric surgery at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital in 2012.
Torben works in both public and private practice, with a current appointment at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. His interests are wide, but include anaesthesia for ear, nose and throat surgery, for hepatobiliary surgery, obstetric anaesthesia, and in the field of perioperative medicine. He is keenly involved in the education of anaesthetic trainees and junior doctors and is an EMST instructor.
Torben’s interests include volunteer work, with future aid trips to Samoa, spending time with his family, playing squash (frequently), and skiing (not frequently enough).
