In 1961 The Brisbane Clinic in Wickham Terrace, Spring Hill housed many medical specialists, including 4 private anaesthetists. As the city of Brisbane grew so did the need for private health care. This small group of anaethestists expanded to 8 by 1988. It soon became evident that the building was not large enough for a growing practice. In the October of 1988 the group of 8 moved to the Wesley Medical Centre at the Wesley Private Hospital.  Such changes saw the formation of a company and a name change to Auchenflower Anaesthesia Associates Pty Ltd, trading as Wesley Anaesthesia and Pain Management.  After 21 years the practice numbers have grown to 26 and continue to invite newly qualified specialists to join the team.

Our anaesthetists provide anaesthetic services and pain management to patients undergoing medical and surgical procedures in hospitals and day surgery centres within the Brisbane area, Gold Coast and regional locations such as Longreach and Rockhampton.

The staff of Wesley Anaesthesia and Pain Management provides secretarial and accounting services to the anaesthetists in the group and also provide potential patients with an estimate of fees prior to surgery.
