Dr Duncan studied Medicine at St Andrews University Scotland and Manchester University England graduating as a doctor in 1990. In 1993 unable to stand grey skies any longer he came to Brisbane intending to spend a year here. However he met his wife Sam and ended up staying on rather longer and shows no sign of returning to the Mother Country any time soon.
He trained in Anaesthesia at the Royal Brisbane Hospital qualifying as a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2001
Dr Duncan has a wide range of professional interests including providing Anaesthesia for obesity surgery, maxillo-facial surgery and paediatric surgery. He is also interested in the use of simulators in the teaching of Anaesthesia and is an EMAC instructor at the Simulation & Skills Centre. He is credentialled at all major Brisbane Hospitals and many day care facilities.
When not working his spare time is spent taxiing his kids to various activities. He manages to find time to squeeze in the odd run and plays guitar badly when no one is listening. He is a passionate but all too infrequent skier. |
